He is survived by : his wife Shannon Hayes; his children, Hailee Hayes and Jordan Hayes (Elizabeth); his brothers, Alan Hayes, John Hayes (Andrea) and Jim Hayes (Melissa); and his siblings-in-law, Kevin Hamblin (Jane), Jim Hamblin and Lisa Hamblin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Hendersonville Preschool Department or the American Heart Association.
