He was predeceased by : his parents, Jennie Sartain Bean and Lloyd Bean; his wife Zora Elizabeth Parks Bean; and his siblings, Owen Bean, Charlie Bean, James Bean, Eugene Bean, Ruth Bean and Ruby Bean.

He is survived by : his children, Randy Bean (Anne Gillespie), Martha Thompson (Larry) of Quebeck, TN and Mary Shelton (Joey); and his sister Pauline Marchesoni of Manchester, TN. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
