He was predeceased by: his father James Crawford Swafford. He is survived by: his wife Julia Mills Swafford; his children, Jacy Swafford, Alexis Pennington and Zayde Miller; his granddaughters, Aleah and Caroline Pennington; his mother Gail Swafford; and his sister Renee Swafford.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
