It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Velva Gayle Hatfield of Hixson, Tennessee, who passed away on April 10, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Avery Talley and Estel Talley; her husband Gene Hatfield; and her sister Goldie Crabtree. She is survived by : her daughter Gwendolyn Thompson (Jerry) of Bryant, AL; her grandchildren, Amy Blevins (Chip), Dana Harris and Stacy Thompson; her great grandchildren, Sarena King, Carly Horne, Abigail Blevins, Hermione Redish and Veda Bingham; and her sister Sara McBride of Hazel Green, AL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Standefer-Reed Funeral Home (50 May Rd, Dunlap, TN 37327). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
