He is survived by: his wife Joyce Spurgeon of Pulaski; his sons, Eric Spurgeon (Alicia) of Loretto and Scott Spurgeon (Carolyn) of Lawrenceburg; his stepchildren, Richard Cagle of Toney, AL, Donna McMullins (Jerry) of Athens, AL and Loretta Glover (Rick) of Pulaski; and his grandchildren, Haley Spurgeon, Madison Spurgeon, Tyler Steadman, Andrew Spurgeon, Chaide Spurgeon, Crystal McGill (David), Justin Burchell, Trent Teeples, Blair Teeples, Amanda Shaw (Marco), Drew Cagle (Gina), Alden Cagle, Josh Cagle and Brandon Cagle. He is also survived by 12 Great Grandchildren.
