It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Scates of Huntingdon, Tennessee, who passed away on January 11, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Roberts of Iowa and Nell Pinson Roberts; her husband Paul Edwin Scates Sr.; and her siblings, Rachel Sewell, Pete Roberts and J. I. Roberts.
She is survived by: her sons, Paul Edwin Scates MD (Lisa) of Somerville and Stanley Nelson Scates (Penny) of Dickson, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Scates, Tara Michelle Scates, Paul Edwin Scates III and Hillary Hohlt (Adam); and her great grandchild Piper Newcomb.
