He was predeceased by: his siblings, Juanita Rawlins Woodard and William Roy Gowan. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Yancey Gowan of Trezevant; his children, Karen Pirtle (Jim) of Milan, TN and Mark Gowan (Beverly) of Huntingdon, TN; his sister Carolyn Utley of Huntingdon; and his grandchildren, Lorien Fleener (Trenton) of New Orleans, Ian Gowan (Brittany) of Huntingdon, Jon-Marc Gowan (Megan) of Cedar Grove, TN and Ashley Pirtle of Maysville.
