He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ray and Sarah Faye Barnette; his wife Gay Ann; his brothers, James "Jimmy" Barnette and John Barnette; his stepson Billy Jack Norvell; and his daughter Elizabeth Lamport.
He is survived by: his children, Billy Ray Barnette Jr. (Jane) and Judy Dixon (Chip); his stepchildren, Harold "Buddy" Norvell Jr. and Gay Beth Bolton; his granddaughter Leah Beth Bolton (Jacob Wingfield); his great grandchildren, Jack Barnette and Charles Bolton Wingfield; and his sisters, Nellie Paris (Wade) and Helen Fowler (Larry). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel (2812 N Highland Ave, Jackson, TN 38305). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
