It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnny Jay Evans of Jasper, Tennessee, who passed away on August 6, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Green Avans and Zada Avans; his children, Johnny Avans and Carol Avans; his sister Mary Elizabeth Avans; and his stepson Doyle Rust.
He is survived by: his partner Jeraldine Allen; his children, Ray Avans, Mike Rust, Karen Phillips (Danny) and Lisa Rust; and his sisters, Agnes Rector (Dudley), Irene Ledford and Eloise (Patrick). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and loyal friends.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations to be made to a charity of your choice in "Memory of Johnny Jay "Bad Eye" Evans".
