He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Samuel and Gladys Birk; and his siblings, Betty Sheppard and Edward A. Birk. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Birk; his children, Charles M. Birk (Kelley), Janet Wimpee (David) and John David Birk (Wendy); his grandchildren, Charles Matthew Birk, Nickie Barry, Alex Birk, Sarah Birk, Amy Bernard, Hollie Echevarria, Layiel Briley, Blaine Birk and Brice Birk; and his sister Evelyn Hale. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
