She was predeceased by: her parent Sevella Machen Sr.; her daughters, Ann Simmons and Sherry Bass; her father Alton Machen; her grandmothers, Newman and Pearl Machen; her grandchildren, Gaylon McConnell, Katherine Workman and Garrett McConnell; and her siblings, Alton Machen Jr., Shirley Murphy, Carolyn Bradley and Billy Jack Machen.
She is survived by: her husband Charles McConnell; her children, Charlette Tate (Bennie), Eddie McConnell, Garry McConnell (Jodi), Tracy Bacon (Pedro) and Sevella Mostella (Stephen); and her brother Jerry Machen (Linda). She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
