We are sad to announce that on February 15, 2024, at the age of 101, Evelyn Anderson Gordon (Johnson City, Tennessee), born in West Point, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Major Glenn Preston Anderson and Alice Lincoln Anderson; her siblings, Glenn Preston Anderson Jr. of Johnson City and Alice Elizabeth Lindsey of Anderson, SC; her husband Charles O. Gordon, Sr.; and her children, Jack Curtis Gordon, Marion Lucretia Gordon and Evelyn Sexton Gordon.
She is survived by : her children, Mary Alice Hardin of Chilhowie, VA, Charles "Chuck" Gordon Jr. (Betsy) of Johnson City and Robert Preston Gordon (Sherry) of Charlotte, NC; and her daughter-in-law Lucy Carriger Gordon of Johnson City. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Evelyn's memory to the Salvation Army's Charles O. Gordon Center of Hope; 200 Ashe St. Johnson City, TN 37604 (423) 926-8901, as she was always a strong advocate for helping those in need.
