He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Proffitt and Eva Proffitt; and his brother Dan Proffitt. He is survived by : his close friend Kathryn Lewis; his children, Wayne Lenard Proffitt (Diane) and Brenda Adams (Larry); his siblings, Dwight Proffitt (Regina), Edwin Proffitt (Linda), Diane O'Dell (Wayne), Marion Osborne and Grace Davis; and his stepmother Hazel Proffitt. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
