He was predeceased by : his parent Brady Crain; his son Kevin Godfrey; and his siblings, Esther Burton, Mary Cutshaw, Colene Shankle, Thelma Mashburn, Macie Brogdon, Charlie Crain, Vance Crain and Herman Crain.

He is survived by : his parent Rinthey Coats Crain; his wife Betty Johnson Crain; his children, Sharon Crain, Gigi Vines, Twyla Willis, Rebecca Miller, Bryan Godfrey and Doug Godfrey; his brother Wallace Crain; his brother-in-law Craig Johnson; and his friend Larry Bacon. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two unborn great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
