He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Truman Kilbourne, Sr. and Nannie Kate Bond Kilbourne. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Short Kilbourne; his children, James David "J. D." Kilbourne and Jenny Wade Kilbourne; his granddaughter Ava Jayde Kilbourne; and his sister Susan Kilbourne Moon Sanders. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
