He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Gathercole and Louise Fletcher Gathercole; the mother of his children Nancy Ann Johnson; and his sister Marybeth O'Sullivan. He is survived by: his sons, Daniel (Sharon), Michael and James (Camille); his grandchildren, Thomas, Jens, Emmitt, Jennifer, Susan, Cheryl and Abigail; his great grandchild Myla; and his siblings, Louise, Jeanine (Bernie), Susan (Jim), Kenneth (Deborah), Robert (Shirley) and Celine (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A witty and generous man, Herb had registered to donate his body, but was unable to do so because of covid.
