Betty Jean Hammonds Gillis Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Hammonds Gillis of Kingsport, Tennessee, who passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Riley Hammonds and Ruby Virginia Jones; her husband Bobby Gillis; her son Bart Gillis; and her siblings, Mary Lou Graham, Margaret Greer, Barbara Hammonds, Sherrill Larkins, Thomas Hammonds and Ronnie Hammonds.
She is survived by: her children, Tammy Gillis (Pat Shanks) and Tracey Andrews; her grandchildren, Brittany Williams (Jared), Heather Brock (Cory), Grant Gillis (Rebecca), Haley Marlow (D. L.) and Hannah Ring (Jordan); and her siblings, Linda Davis, Wayne Larkins (Judy), Kenneth Larkins and James Larkins (Yvonne). She is also survived by great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the East Lawn Funeral Home (4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, TN 37664). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
