It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derek Glen Hughes of Kingsport, Tennessee, born in Gulfport, Mississippi, who passed away on May 16, 2023, at the age of 35, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Larry Glen Hughes; his grandparents, Edward, Geneva Hughes and Richard; his great-grandparent John Frederick; his uncles, Ernest Frederick and Nathan Dillard; his aunt Jacque Percello (George); and his cousin Laura Frederick.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Huss Hughes; his sons, Derek Glen Hughes, Jr. and Dylan Hughes; his mother Anna Dobson (Albert Madison); his grandmother Emma Frederick; his brother Kenneth Frederick; his aunts, Irene Frederick and Karen Dillard; his uncle Richard John Frederick (Phyllis); and his mother-in-law Mae McClellan.
