He was predeceased by: his parents, C. R. Kilgore and Fern Kilgore; his brother Richard Kilgore; his son Mark Kilgore; and his daughter-in-law Barbara.

He is survived by: his wife Patsy Alley Kilgore; his son David Ray Kilgore; his grandchildren, Mary Ellen Jessee, Davina Kilgore, Daniel Kilgore and Braxton Kilgore; and his sister Judy Johnson. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
