He was predeceased by: his wife Jolene Hubbard Townsend; his siblings, Joe, Gaither, Jacob Townsend and Carolyn Townsend; and his parents, Clarence Townsend and Charlotte Townsend.
He is survived by: his daughters, Diane Blevins (Jerry) and Sandy Begley (David); his grandsons, Derek Olson (Juanita Housewright), Chris Blevins (Brandy) and Dustin Olson (Carrie); his sons, Derek, Dustin and John Olson; and his stepgrandchildren, Nate, Keelie Begley, Racheal and Scott Pritchard. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home (117 E Charlemont Ave, Kingsport, TN 37660). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park (2630 TN-75, Blountville, TN 37617).
