He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Fanning and Cody Fanning; his wife Judy; and his sons, Mike and Sammy Fanning.
He is survived by: his sons, Jonnie Fanning, Roy Fanning (Becky) and James Fanning (Shana); his daughter-in-law Sherry Fanning; and his nieces, Darlenea, Debbie, Karen and Sherry. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services (800 Truxton Dr, Kingsport, TN 37660). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hamblen Memory Gardens (5335 Old Kentucky Rd, Russellville, TN 37860).
