He was loved and cherished by many people including : his son Charles Edward Cunningham; his parents, John Cunningham and Beulah Simpson Cunningham; his wife Helen Louise Fine Cunningham; his siblings, Bernice Martello, ElFreda Carter, Hersel Bradford, Kenneth Cunningham, Joe Cunningham and Willard Cunningham; his children, Diane Cunningham, Joe Cunningham and Gina Mabry (Ken); his grandchildren, Johnny Vanderpool (Larua) of Nashville, Sherry Hooten (George) of Nashville, Julie Vanderpool of Nashville, Jason Cunningham (Kelly), Knoxville, Lauren Cunningham, Zachary Mabry and Sam Mabry of Kingston; his great grandchildren, Alexandra Hull, Isabella Woodward of Nashville, Elijah Mabry, Ezekiel Mabry of Kingston and Jensen Barnes; and his siblings, Doris Cunningham Montooth of Sweetwater, TN and Paul Cunningham of Gainesville, GA.
