It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billie Freedom Bailey of Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on July 16, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Dona Bailey and Edgebert Bailey (Betty Bailey); his son Chucky Vandergriff; and his sister Mae Tharp. He is survived by: his daughter Linda Nelson; his grandsons, Kenneth Nelson Jr., Gregory Nelson and Jason Nelson; his great grandchildren, Cody Nelson, Chaz and Toby; his sibling's children, Carson Tharp and Sue Tharp; his cousin Faye Hickle; and his close friends, Handy, Marlene Kaiser, Elvis Doane, Nancy Oaks, Joe, Sheila Kaiser and Steve Dalton.
