He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Ray and Sydney Smith Kerr; and his grandson Christopher Williams. He is survived by: his wife Melinda Kerr; his children, David Flatt, Jennifer Gottovi (Seth), Sherri Williams (Joel), Dusti Kerr Disney and Kristle Cameron (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Keaton (Greg), Sanora Gottovi (Jaden Padgett), Michelle Williams, Ashlyn Disney, Liam Cameron and Sydney Spencer; and his siblings, David Kerr (Diane), Toni McClure and Tina Ward (Gary).

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Berry Funeral Home (3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920). A committal service will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920).
