He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Karnes and Louise Karnes. He is survived by: his son Douglas Karnes; his grandsons, Nathan, Blake and Nicholas Karnes; and his siblings, Bobby Dean Karnes (Sharon), Judy Jackson (Tom) and Charles Herbert Karnes (Sharon Bennett).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Serenity House of Morristown 421 N High Street Morristown, Tn 37814.
