He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold D. Grillot and Martha Jane Steen Grillot. He is survived by: his wife Lisabeth Jean Lindsey Grillot; his children, James L. Grillot (Ayse) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Susan M. Burgess (Tom) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; his granddaughters, Alexandra Flores (Marcus) of Charlotte, Kaitlyn Barnard (Brett) of Charlotte and Lindsey Grillot of Brooklyn; his great grandchild Merrick; and his sister Mary Ann Grillot Steen (Jalisco) of Guadalajara. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to can make a memorial donation to their favorite charity.
