With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Georgia Elizabeth Hatcher Shipley of Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on July 21, 2022 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Franklin Delano Shipley; her parents, George Bert and Sallie Thresher Hatcher; and her siblings, Kenneth Doane Hatcher, Irene Hatcher and Charles Hatcher.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Shipley (Christine) of York, Maine and Susan E. Shipley of Knoxville; her daughter-in-law Patricia Shipley of Greensboro; her sister Bonnie Whitaker of Knoxville; and her close friend Norma Barrett. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Doctors Without Borders.
