He was predeceased by: his wife Christine Cox; his son-in-law Kenneth Sturm; his parents, Floyd Cox and Josie Cox; and his siblings, Lawrence Cox, Odevah Cox, Geneva Cooper, Arvil Cox, Arnold Cox and Della Ward.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia Furl (Ken) of Clarkesville, GA, Gail Sturm of Gainesville, GA and Debbie Norris (Bob) of Knoxville, TN; his grandchildren, Chris Furl (Bonnie), Lisa Nalbach (Tim), Kevin Sturm (Jessica), Kurtis Sturm (Heather), Meredith Spears (Zack) and Robert Norris; and his great grandchildren, Hunter Furl, Zoe, Jocelyn, Jillian Nalbach, Mollie, Macie, Konner, Luke, Marissa Sturm and Eloise Spears. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
