As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though JoAnn Donnell may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald M. Matthews and Alice F. Matthews; and her brothers, Bobby D. and Jackie C. Matthews. She is survived by: her sister Helen M. Smith; her niece Tracy D. Matthews; and her close friends, Gloria Tapp, Cayden Yarbrough, Celia Snyder and William James Allman. She is also survived by friends, neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home and Cremations Middlebrook Chapel (9020 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37923). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (2109 Piney Grove Church Rd, Knoxville, TN 37931).
