He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilford Ed Hutchens and Willa Dean Hutchens; his brother Charles Hutchens; and his sister-in-law Willeen Hutchens. He is survived by: his wife Vernice Hutchens; his children, Randy Hutchens, Lorri Clark (Tom), Sammy Captain, Greg Captain (Candi) and Andy Captain (Terri); his siblings, Ronnie Hutchens and Patsy Easterday (Dennis); his grandchildren, D. J. McMurry, Isaiah Captain (Ansley), Drew Captain, Bethani Clark, Tyler Captain (Devyn), Baylee Norwood (Stephen), Alivia Captain and Hanna Captain; and his great grandchildren, Landray Captain and Josie Captain.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Clear Spring Baptist Church (7350 Tazewell Pike, Corryton, TN 37721). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Clear Springs Baptist Church Music ministry.
