She was predeceased by: her husband Donald L. Scates; her parents, Raymond Atchley and Maydell Atchley; and her brothers, Bill Atchley, Danny Atchley and Doug Atchley.

She is survived by: her sister Burma Carr; her daughters, Donna McNeil (Randy), Kelly Scates (Don) and Gina Reynolds (Jeff); her grandchildren, Chris McNeil (Kelsi), Malea Ford (Christian), Jordan Reynolds, Dylan Reynolds and Payton Reynolds; her great grandchildren, Blake Woods, Bryce McNeil, Emersyn Zimmerman, Sutton Ford and Kollins Ford; and her close friend Amanda. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
