He was predeceased by: his father James Ronald Shelton; and his grandparents, Conley, Bessie Shelton, W. C. and Belle McClendon.

He is survived by: his nephew Parker; his mother Elizabeth Shelton; his brother Greg; his sister-in-law Kim; his sister Sara; and his brother-in-law Jamey. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
