She was predeceased by: her parents, Luke Maples and Ethie Maples; and her brother Ben. She is survived by: her son Kay; her husband Dr. Howard Filston; her sons, Allen (Pam Stoutt) and Jeffrey "Bo" Stoutt (Angela); her grandchildren, Rachel (Grant Birchmeier) and Trevor; her great grandchildren, Dax, Kinley and Aiden; her grandchildren, Tim, Beth Filston, David, Ella, Caroline, Philip, Jameson, Benjamin, Abby, Eric and Megan Johnson; and her siblings, Beulah and Doc. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bridges Funeral Home (5430 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, TN 37924). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Cemetery (3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918).
