She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Gaile Starling and Frances Ernestine Starling; her mother-in-law Mollie Lucille Smyrl; her husband Norman Smyrl; her children, Tracy Smyrl Ward (Ron Ward) of Cumming and Timothy Smyrl (Heather Smyrl) of Knoxville; and her granddaughters, Emily, Zoey Ward of Cumming and Rachael Smyrl of Knoxville.
She is survived by: her sister Sylvia Marrs of Maryland; and her stepmother Virginia Starling of New Mexico. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Kern Memorial Methodist Church (451 E Tennessee Ave, Oak Ridge, TN 37830). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
