She was predeceased by: her husband Joe Carson; her parents, R. L. Rogers and Sadie Cunningham Rogers; and her siblings, Richard, Gerald, Dorothy, Mary Alice, Bobby and Jimmy.
She is survived by: her sons, Joe Richard Carson (Kelly Goodwin-Carson) and Timothy Carson (Karen Carson); her grandchildren, Melissa Carson, Amanda Carson Smiddy (Slade Smiddy), Steven Carson (Kellie Carson), Sarah Carson Curtis (Dustin Curtis) and Tanner Carson; and her great grandchildren, Chloe Smiddy, Lilah, Doak and Ellah Curtis.
