He was predeceased by: his parents, John Richard and Sarah Rains (Crabtree); and his brothers, William Rains of Henry Rains, J. C and Kenneth Rains. He is survived by: his children, Nathaniel Rains of Jacksboro, Joel Rains (Rinda) of LaFollette, Kimberly Renee Rains of Jacksboro and Tammy Inman (Larry) of LaFollette; his sister Brenda Givens of London; his grandchildren, Daniel Rains (Gail), Joanna Davis and Channel Cook; his great grandchildren, Lydia Davis, Blake Smith and Austin Rains; and his great great grandchild Nyla Mitchem. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
