He was predeceased by: his parents, William Rose Nelson and Sara Margaret Nelson (Boshears); his wife Delphia Nelson (Lawson); his children, Ronnie Nelson and Linda Nelson; and his siblings, Charlie, Dewey, Millard, Paul Nelson, Emma Jean Cooper-Long and Callie Richardson.
He is survived by: his children, Lynn Nelson (Doris) of Jacksboro, Gary Nelson (Hazel) of Columbia, Sammy Nelson of LaFollette and Kathy Murphy (Larry) of Cadillac, Michigan; his brother Robert Nelson of Loudon; and his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Nelson of Bandy, Virginia. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
