He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Roy Nix and Tharon Opal Daniels; his siblings, Bud Nix, Jimmy Ray Nix Sr., Bonnie Davis and Linda Martin; and his great-niece Chloe Lynn Nix.

He is survived by: his wife Virgie Nix; his children, Kevin Roy Nix, Roy Jr. Caperton, Danny Caperton, Devin Bryant, Barbara Lee Nix and Holly Daniels; and his close friend Violet Hindman. He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews.
