He was predeceased by: his parents, Buford Vandiver and Gracie Boyd Vandiver; his children, Pamela Yates and Phillip Vandiver; and his sister Kaye Wilson.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Ann Vandiver of Lawrenceburg, TN; his daughters, April Long (Lucas) of Summertown, TN and Natalie Short (Kaleb) of Lawrenceburg, TN; his sisters, Brenda Jacobs (Randy) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Sue Simms of Winchester, TN; his grandchildren, Will Yates (Crystal), Leah Trimble, Finley Long, Liam Long, Maddie Short and Millie Short; his great grandchildren, Jocee Willis, Jay Willis, Sophia Trimble, Adelaide Yates and Gracie Louise Yates; his uncle Lavon Boyd; and his close friend Seymore. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with Governor Bill Lee's Executive Order No. 17, a private graveside service was held at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens.
