He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Edward and Iva Nell Robertson Adkins; his son Andrew Kyle "Andy" Adkins; and his brothers, Barry Edward Adkins and Kerry Ray "Kurt" Adkins.

He is survived by : his sons, Chase Adkins (Jordan) of Ethridge, TN and Matthew Adkins (Amanda) of Lawrenceburg, TN; his grandchildren, Charlie Kate Adkins, Ellie Reese Adkins, Emmett Adkins, Braxton Adkins and Annie Beth Adkins; and his nieces and nephews, Hunter Adkins of Lawrenceburg, TN, Johnathan Adkins (Amy), Breeana Durden (Michael) and Kelci Dean (John Morgan). He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
