With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Jewel Dean Ellis of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, JD Womble and Lacy Crumbly Womble; her husband Verbon Ellis; and her siblings, Bill Womble and Mildred Womble Thompson.
She is survived by: her sons, Terry Ellis (Marla) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Ronnie Ellis (Lesa) of Ethridge, TN and Bobby Ellis (Carrie) of Hampshire, TN; her siblings, James Womble (Alice) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Wayne Womble of Smyrna, TN, Danny Womble (Annette) of Ethridge, TN, Martha Magee (Herbie) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Carolyn Collins of Jackson, TN; and her grandchildren, Heather Hopkins, Nick Ellis (Casey), Cory Ellis, Richard Dixon (Jennifer), Amelia Shelton (Derek), Alexis Ramsey (Deandre), Sam Ellis, Gracie Ellis and Aubrey Ellis. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mars Hill Baptist Church (630 Weakley Creek Rd, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family encourages making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
