He is survived by: his daughter Alice Dovel (Brett) of Knoxville, TN; his grandchildren, Bryton, Erik, Damian, Julie, Jaxson, Tala and Patty Carey of Vienna, Austria; his wife Julie Carey of Knoxville, TN; his brother-in-law Wolf Klaiber of Ocoee, FL; and his sibling's children, Sean Augustine (Elena) of Miami, FL, Justin Levy (Ilana) of Portland, OR, Victoria Cherpes (Mark) of Vienna, VA, Lisa Carey-Davis (Lyn) of Bozeman, MT and Colleen Carey (David).
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home and Cremations Farragut Chapel (11915 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37934). A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
