He was predeceased by: his parents, Carolyn Fickle and Cecil L. Petty, Sr.; his stepmother Sharron Petty; his grandparents, Maggie Petty and Art Fickle (Irene Fickle); and his uncle Jody Petty.
He is survived by: his pets, Sissy, Missy and Sadie; his wife Billie Jo Petty; his children, Brent Van Tassel (Kim) of Bakersfield, CA, Stacie Hitson of Loudon Co and Melissa Hitson of Loudon Co; his grandchildren, Berkley, Maddox Van Tassel, Bryson Marshall, Madison Thomas, Jasmyne Baker and Layla Baker; his sister Carol Bartel of Sacramento, CA; and his uncle Avery (Barbara Petty). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
