He was predeceased by : his parents, Sam Garland and Nell Garland of Maryville, TN; and his grandparents, Frank, Lyda Cummings, Clay and Johnny Mae Garland.

He is survived by : his sisters, Tammy Hearon (Robert) and Pam Nichols (John); his nephew Matt Hearon (Stephanie); his great-nephew Samuel; his great-niece Lydia; his nephew Jonathan Nichols (Jennifer); his great-nieces, Amelia, Penelope and Elizabeth; his great-nephew Jack; his aunt Betty Baker; and his uncle Hubert Garland (Catherine).

A graveside service was held on Friday, May 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Maple Grove Baptist Cemetery (3201 Carpenters Grade Rd, Maryville, TN 37803).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Blount County Humane Society.
