She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifton Samuel Blacksten and Ethel Margaret Fritz Blacksten; her husbands, John Arter Sr., Elworth Keefer, Richard Hype and Kenneth Stoddard; her children, John Arter Jr. and Helen Livingston; her grandchildren, James Arter Jr. and Nicole Arter; and her sister Betty Shaffer.
She is survived by: her sons, James Arter Sr. (Crystal) and Norman Arter Sr. (Laura); and her pet Blackie. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 nieces and nephews.
