He is survived by: his wife Angela Jolley Fortner; his sons, Matthew Scott Fortner, Jr. of Martin, Zachary Sean Fortner (Kathy) of Martin and Nicholas Ryan Fortner (Whitney) of Chattanooga, TN.; his mother Doris Crane Fortner of Memphis, TN; his sister Lynne Fortner Albonetti (Mike) of Memphis; his grandchildren, Lily Beth Fortner and Sullivan James Fortner; and his siblings-in-law, Stephen Jolley, Tommy Jolley and Terri Jolley Stone (Steve).
