He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret E. "Judy" Hitch Shamblin; and his siblings, Meredith Jordan, Crowder Shamblin, Edna Margaret King and Carl Shamblin.
He is survived by: his children, Shay Shamblin (Twila), Tom Shamblin (Terry) and Charis Davis (Richard). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
