He is survived by: his brother Ed; his children, Kathy Buttery (Tim) of Middlesboro, KY, Marquetta Carpenter (Curtis Smith) of Middlesboro, KY, Judy Mills (Michael) of Harrogate, TN, Shannon Tucker (David) of McKenzie and Bo Carpenter (Melissa) of Huntingdon; his siblings, Paula Lacefield of Indianapolis, IN, Patsy Turner of Sheridan, IN, Pauline Wyrick of Middlesboro, KY and Jackie Ray Carpenter of Indianapolis, IN; his daughter Edna Carpenter of Middlesboro, KY; and his close friends, Walter Irvin, Arlis and Brenda Turner.
