It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carlie Eugene Burgess of McMinnville, Tennessee, who passed away on April 13, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Hershel Burgess and Nannie Mayberry Burgess; his son Charles Edward Burgess; and his siblings, Lonzo, David Burgess and Cezilla Barrett.

He is survived by : his son Carl Burgess (Tamisha) of McMinnville; his grandchildren, Carissa Jones (Justin) of Cookeville, Meagan Burgess (Colby) of Spencer, Miranda Bain (Samuel) of McMinnville and Zachary Burgess (Rylan); his great grandchildren, Carter, Cae Lynn Jones, Barron Burgess, Sherman Bain and Rosemary Bain; and his siblings, Harlan Burgess, Daniel Burgess (Monica), Arvil Burgess, Mary Etta Bouldin, Delilah Watson (Larry) and Zodell Jones.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Bascom Cemetery (5311 Vervilla Rd, Morrison, TN 37357).
