He is survived by : his nephew Michael Smartt; his wife Debora "Debbie" Smartt of McMinnville; his sons, Rick Smartt (Jean) of Charlottesville, VA and Brandon Smartt (Krystal) of Cookeville, TN; his grandchildren, Ethan Smartt, Emma Nash (Connor), Ellie Smartt, Austin Pike (Ty), Mason Smartt and Jackson Smartt; his stepdaughter Teresa Verhoestra of Spanish Fort, AL; and his stepgranddaughters, Lauren Powers (David), Makeelie Verhoestra and Bella Verhoestra. He is also survived by two step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
